My name is Kyle. I just finished my studies at Calvary Chapel Bible College in York, England and I'm planning on going back to UK (Wales, specifically) as missionary and intern with Peyton Jones of Pillar Community Church in Swansea.
I loved Bible College, it's so much fun. I think that almost all Christians of about college age should go for at least one semester to ground them in the faith before secular university. It is a great growth experience, and as much as you learn in the classes I learned more outside of class.
I'm a short (5' 152cm), debatably sane, bibliophile, and technophile. I love reading and technology in equal measure, consequently I feel torn between a desire for a return to simple farm living and my technolust. It's a fine line to walk, and usually I fall on the technophile side.
I also love music, especially hardcore and metal, but my taste is wide ranging and includes most everything save rap, country, and pop. *shudder*
Because of all my reading I have a large vocabulary, and people tend to assume that I'm smart. I am, a bit, but basically I just remember stuff. I have a decent memory and a quick-ish mind, which leads people to think I'm one of those homeschooled geniuses, I would beg to differ. I'm just a slightly more insane normal kid.
I was homeschooled my entire life up to college, but I'm not sheltered and I'm actually quite socially capable. Most people wouldn't peg me for a homeschooler right away and I'm not in any way a typical example, but then again, who is?
I feel called to go back the UK and intern with a missionary from my home church in Wales. I feel a burden for the people of Wales, it was formerly known as the 'Land of Revival' and now less than 2% of the population attends church of any kind. I love it over there and would like nothing better than to go back and reach out to the people there for God. Currently, I am in the process of gathering support and figuring out the visa application process so I can apply for a visa to go back. Please pray for me in that because the British government is making it harder and harder to get into the country and stay there and the application process itself is incredibly arcane and frustrating. Then there's the issue of support, I would also like prayer for that, I know the Lord will provide, but your support in prayer is also greatly appreciated.
